An Evening Exploring AI From a Christian Perspective
Join us at Emmanuel Baptist Church for an engaging evening with Professor Jackey Gong as we explore artificial intelligence from a distinctly Christian perspective. As both a leading AI researcher and a campus minister, Jackey is uniquely equipped to help us think carefully, biblically, and hopefully about one of the most important technologies shaping our world. His talk, “The Fingerprints of God Revealed by AI,” will consider how AI raises deep questions about creativity, human uniqueness, wisdom, and the glory of God.

About Professor Gong

Jiaqi “Jackey” Gong, PhD, is the founding director of the Alabama Center for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence and an associate professor of computer science at The University of Alabama. He also holds an adjunct appointment in mechanical engineering and leads the Sensor-Accelerated Intelligent Learning (SAIL) Laboratory.

Jackey’s teaching and research focus on the convergence of human and artificial intelligence, including human-centered computing, machine learning, intelligent sensing, wearable technologies, and smart and connected health. His interdisciplinary work seeks practical applications in health, education, engineering, and public service.

Alongside his academic work, Jackey serves as campus minister for the Tuscaloosa Chinese Christian Fellowship. Together with Robert E. Brooks, he is developing AI, Christianity, and the Future, an educational and publishing initiative designed to help churches, schools, families, and marketplace leaders engage artificial intelligence with technical understanding, biblical wisdom, ethical discernment, and confidence in the sovereignty of God.
